Quantitative topics on performance evaluation
This part of the program consists of a critical discussion of selected managerial topics in both business management and public administration management. In both cases, quantitative features of performance evaluation are emphasised. Business analysis starts from concepts and models familiar to students from previous courses in order to discuss their relevance in different business situations.. Final evaluation is a weighted average based on class discussion (30%) and on a written exam with open questions (70%). For non attending students, written exam has a supplementary section on further reading

The objective of the course is to supply the essential tools required to integrate the functions carried out by different areas in an industrial company, achieving the best corporate system efficiency.
The course examines the general characteristics of production processes and the relative technical means used in industrial companies. The basic principles of quality, certification and corporate social responsibility are also considered as well as energy problems (importance, resources, consumption and environmental impact).
The following topics are included in the program:
- productive area in industrial companies;
- typologies of industries and processes;
- industrial plants – fundamental planning, design and managing criteria;
- quality and certification;
- corporate social responsibility;
